Chevrolet is expected to launch its mid-size sedan,the Chevrolet Cruze across the globe and in India by the end of this year.The economic crunch have resulted in GM postponing the release date of the Chevrolet Cruze,but still this mid -size sedan is expected to be here at least by mid 2010.

The launch of the Chevrolet Cruze will make the D Segment market a lot hotter.The Chevrolet Cruze should give a good run for the money to current market leaders in the D Segment,the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla.The Cruze is also expected to cost a lot less than these cars,hence making it a genuine contender.

The Chevrolet Cruze will have two variants,a 1.8L petrol engine and a 2.0L Diesel engine.The 1.8L petrol variant is expected to deliver 138 bhp,power which is quite similar to what is provided by the Honda Civic.The Diesel variant should deliver 147 bhp.A lower end,a 1.6L petrol variant may also be introduced to the Indian markets which will output 112 bhp.

The Chevrolet Cruze features Chevrolet’s signature design language.Though a mid-size sedan,the unique design features give the Cruze coupe-like looks.It is characterized by an arching roof-line,which extends from its steeply raked windshield to its sloping rear pillars and rear deck.The Chevrolet Cruze is also much wider and longer than its competitors.A notable design feature is its bold front styling,with large
headlamp housings,two tier grille.

The interior features a twin-cockpit design,something that are seen in sports cars.The large glove-box, spacious center console and the huge door bins make the Chevrolet Cruze quite spacious.The other interior settings too contribute in making this sedan look very impressive and luxurious on the interior.

The Chevrolet Cruze will be the first GM car to feature its global Delta platform and will also feature technologies to improve fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.In terms of safety,the Cruze comes loaded with 2 airbags,EBD and ABS.The comfort and convenience features are also mentioning,as the Cruze provides you with Climate controlled AC,
Power windows,Leather seats,rear arm rest with cup holder and much more.

The Chevrolet Cruze is likely to be priced between 11 to 13 lakhs.
