Earlier we did an article about some of the craziest concept bikes that we could expect.Now continuing from where we left of,we give you some of the craziest concept cars.
Before that some history on concept cars.The idea of a concept car or a prototype vehicle is to showcase new and radical designs to the customers.as such,these cars may or may not be produced.we could say that manufacturers showcase their designs for the future.
The concept cars are the biggest hit in almost all car shows.Any discussion about a concept car should therefore begin with the world’s first ever concept car,the Buick Y-Job.
Buick Y-Job
The Buick Y-Job was designed by General Motors’ Harley J Earl i 1938. The Buick Y-Job had power operated hidden headlamps,hood ornament,wraparound bumpers,flush door handles and prefigured styling cues.The design of the Buick Y-Job can be credited to have pioneered the design ethos that are prevalent these days.

Now that was some history.Now lets see some of the craziest concept cars that were showcased at various auto shows.
Audi R25
The Audi R25 made its entry in the 2008 Los Angeles motor show. The R25 was noticed for its innovative features like the high velocity banks and tunnels,which allows the cars to race inverted. Also,these tunnels were wireless electrical charging zones,which can be used as alternate fuel.
Other main features on the R25 were a new dynamic Space Frame,Algae bio fuel.The R25 will be produced in 2025 and this is a car which may rule racetracks in the future.
Peugeot 20cup
The Peugeot 20cup concept car which was shown in 205 is an innovative concept car.The car can be said as something
between a motor bike and a car, as it has two front wheels and a single rear wheel.The Peugeot 20cup is built around a one piece carbon chassis which incorporates a two seat cockpit.A single arm rear axle is used to steer this vehicle and is centered on the front axle for road holding.

Mercedes Bionic Car
The Mercedes Bionic Car looks as if the car was designed around an animal.The idea of the Mercedes Bionic Car was to use bionic in the car so as to conserve fuel.As such,the research team found out the box fish was an excellent example of an aerodynamic animal.The design team hence mimicked the fish’s streamline profile to improve the aerodynamics and adopted the boxy frame of the fish to increase strength and stability.
What resulted was a car that would achieve speeds up to 190 Kmph and fuel economy of 30 kmpl.An additional operating fluid ‘Adblue’ was used to decrease the amount of emissions by 80%.

Sbarro Assystem City Car
The Sbarro Assystem City Car is the ultimate city car.It was presented in the 2008 Geneva motor show.
What makes this car so special is that it is remarkably easy to park.The car is just 3.6 m long,1.6 m wide and 1.6 m tall and has three axles,a central one with two wheels and one wheel at the extreme end of the car.
The front wheel is powered by an electrical engine with 20 kW,which gives the car to attain a maximum speed of 50 kmph of top speed.
There is a little combustion engine that delivers 60 cv in the rear axle which can be used on roads.Both these engines can be used
together,making the car hybrid.
Ferrari Monza
While most of the concept cars use aerodynamics to plat the wheels firmly,the Ferrari Monza changes the aerodynamic profile when the car reaches a particular speed.This is done by using an on board computer using winglets ahead of the front wheels to create lift to reduce friction.
