Land Rover:All-terrian Vehicles
The luxury car segment in India got a major boost as the Tatas finally introduced the Jaguar and Land Rover in India.We introduced about the Jaguar XF in our previous article.This time we will introduce you to the Land Rovers.The Land Rover is known for its all-terrain capabilities.Stylish in terms of both exteriors and interiors,the Land Rovers exhibit engineering and designing marvel.Tata introduced three variants of the Land Rover in India-the Land Rover Range,Land Rover Range Sport and the Land Rover Discovery 3.
The Land Rovers have a strong and rigid looks but on the interiors,its nothing less than graceful and elegant.While the Range Rover has leather content and great trim finishes,the Range Rover Sport has dynamic cockpit interiors with various leather and wood options.The Discovery 3 also sports stylish interiors and has a seating capacity for 7 passengers with its 3 row seats.
The Engine
Land Rover Range-The Land Rover Range is powered by a 3.6L twin turbo V8 Diesel engine.The Maximum power of the Range Rover is 270 bhp@4000 rpm.The maximum torque is an outstanding 640 Nm @2000 rpm.The Range Rover has a 5 speed automatic gear transmission.
Land Rover Range Sport-The engine specifications of the Range rover Sport and Range Rover are similar as the Range Rover Sport is also powered by a twin turbo 3.6 L V8 engine.The difference is in the gear transmission as the Range Rover Sport comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission.
Land Rover Discovery 3-The Land Rover Discovery is powered by a 2720 cc V6 Diesel engine.The engine outputs a power of 188 bhp@4000 rpm and gives a maximum torque of 440 Nm @ 1900 rpm.The gear transmission is 6 speed manual.
Range Rover Gallery
Active and Passive Safety-Being an all terrain vehicle,the active and safety features of the Land Rovers are of the highest standards.The Range Rovers have 10 airbags and features an advanced ABS,ESP and EBD.Add to these Fog Lamp,Parking Sensors,Traction control and more.The Discovery 3 has 8 airbags and all the above mentioned features.In addition it comes with a four cornered sir suspension,variable ride height and electronic cross linking.Being so rich on the active and passive features,no one could argue that the Land rovers do not have the safety standards for an all terrain vehicle.
Range Rover Sport Gallery
The Comfort and Convenience in the Land Rovers are also of the highest standards.All of them have Dual zone climate control AC.Again you get power windows,Remote Central locking,Rear wiper,armrest,defogger,rear AC vents,automatic vipers and automatic headlamps.
Discovery 3 Gallery
The Land Rover FreeLander is also expected to be released ib September 2009,which will be powered by a 6 Cylinder petrol engine. With the launch of the Jaguars and Land Rovers,Tata will be hoping to make it big in the luxury car segment too and to bring back the past glory of the Jaguars and Land Rovers.
