Toyota Avanza-The Mini Innova coming to India
Toyota’s Innova has been a big hit in the country and prompted them to introduce the Toyota Fortuner,which also have been well received in the Indian markets. Now,Toyota is all set to launch the Toyota Avanza,which is meant to be more affordable than the Innova.It also means that Toyota is taking the competition in the market to a next level and this could also prompt other manufacturers to launch cheaper vehicles in the Multi Purpose Vehicle segment.
Length wise, the Avanza is smaller than its big brother Innova and also the price is expected in the range of 7 lakhs. That itself should give a big boost to the sales since the Innova costs around 9 lakhs.The Avanza will feature a 1.5 L 16 valve CRDi engine with an expected power output of 101 Bhp.Not bad when we consider that the max power offered by Innova is almost similar with a 2.5 L engine.One major difference is that this engine will be a petrol engine.Toyota is also planning for some advanced safety and convenience features in the Avanza. All this may be revealed in the coming Auto Expo 2010 to be conducted from January 5th to 11th in New Delhi.Toyota are also planning to launch a host of other vehicles in the expo.However, the Avanza is expected to be
available in the markets from 2011 only, even though there is a good possibility that we have have a first look at the Mini Innova at the Auto Expo 2010.

Hi Aman…the avanza Is expected to be launched within the next few months,possibly on Q1itself. Have not heard about a diesel variant so far.will keep you posted about launch and prices
