Yamaha Fazer 150-Touring Spirit

21 July 2009 5 Comments Posted By:Vivek

Seems that Yamaha is trying their best to take on the Pulsars and possibly take over the 150 cc segment of motor bikes in India. The Bajaj Pulsars have ruled the segment ever since the first Pulsars
were launched. The launch of the Yamaha FZ and the R15 has just made the competition a lot tougher for the Pulsars. The FZ has really got a good reception from the Indian markets and the encouraging signs have prompted Yamaha to launch the Yamaha Fazer 150.

The Fazer series which has been in international markets for a long time is known for its stylish looks and raw power. The Fazer 150 doesn’t disappoint either. The Fazer is powered by 153 cc,4 stroke,SOHC single cylinder engine giving you with power of 14 bhp@ 7500 rpm.The Fazer is actually a variant of the FZ16,but with half fairing, thus giving it a much better look.

The front comes with a new aerodynamic cowl to keep the wind blast at bay.New twin headlamps also helps in the glamorous looks.Like the FZ16,it comes with large tires and the huge tank, something that has made the FZ popular. The design of the Yamaha Fazer is an example of the craftsmanship of Yamaha. The only disappointing aspect is again the exhaust, which really looks ugly. That’s something that Yamaha should pay attention to.The other aspects of the bike are simply awesome. The Fazer will be offered in 4 color variants-Electric Blue,Midnight Black,Lava Red and Flaming Orange.

The pricing of the Fazer is on the higher side at Rs.72,000.Well,if they really intend on taking on the Pulsar,a competitive pricing was the need of the hour. With the new Pulsar 220 now available at Rs.70,000,the high price tag of the Fazer 150 might just work against it.

Well,it seems that Yamaha has just upped the competition in the 150+ segment. It remains to be seen whether Bajaj comes up with yet another model of Pulsar to compete with it.My guess is that
a new variant of Pulsar is already in the making. The Yamaha Fazer will face stiff competition from the likes of Pulsars and the Apache RTRs.

      Hi,
I have seen this Yamaha Fazer 150cc. It looks stunning but the the aspect of cost looks little higher. People cannot afford to spend 80thousand for a 150cc bike eventhough it looks stylish.

Do you have any idea of when the price of this bike comes down.

We dont really think that the price of the Fazer will come down. But most
probably, the FZ will be priced much lesser now
