Life after Death? – True in the digital world but Google is out to put an end to it
Whether you believe in the age old theory that there is life after death in some other part of the universe or in any other form is very much up to you, but you have to say that in the digital world, this is very much a reality.Ever wondered what happens to your e-mail ids and your social networking pages, blogs etc happens after your death. Well until now, they remain on the internet only for dear ones of us to feel the pain of our loss each time they visit these internet spots. Personally I don't believe in life after death but then there is no denying the fact that out there in the internet world, you will be alive. Now Google has come up with a solution to the “problem” (depends on whether you see it as a problem or not) by introducing the “Inactive Account Manager” tool, thus making it the first company allowing you to choose the fate of your digital life after your death.
Your Google data which includes your emai
l,documents,You Tube,Google+ accounts etc will be either deleted or sent to your loved ones if there is a long period of inactivity on your account. Google allows you to choose the time out period of inactivity and also sends a text message and an email to your listed alternate email address one month before the time out period expires to confirm that you are gone for good. Google will also notify your trusted contacts about the inactivity in your account and also allows Google to delete your account if you wish so. You can add up to 10 confidants who should be knowing about your inactivity and also select whether to share data with them.
Simple but a very good tool indeed. Wish others also follow suit.Access it and control your digital life after death by clicking here.
