A Peep Into India’s Past

The Impact Of Peep Into India’s Past:
India, a land etched at the extreme end of Asian continent is synonymous in the recent past for having made faster strides in IT industry, tourism sector, health sector and the presence of tremendous manpower here implicitly conveying it as the largest democracy in the world.
This country endowed with many rich civilisations gradually paved way for the Europeans to make safer colonies and thereby losing its ages old heritage. With the colonisation came troubles aplenty for this country. Our India was ruled at the hands of others for nearly 200 years until there arose few men blessed with innate qualities of quick analysis, clairvoyance, strength of character and convictions. If one were to make wild guess – names of Mahatma Gandhi,Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru would loom large.. Hold on !!
If one were to miss out a prominent personality in a man like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – it would be a unpardonable blunder. Popularly referred to as “India’s Bismarck” – the main force behind integration of 500+ princely states after independence as well owning a popular sobriquet as “Iron Man Of India”. A true Gandhian to the core having lived Gandhian life in its truest sense giving up his lavish lifestyle unlike Nehru known for western emulation.Had he have not followed Gandhiji’s words as his mentor, the world would have seen him as “The First Prime Minister Of Free India”. At this very point, Nehru would be no where close to his stature. it was due to the laborious effort on his part, we see India today as a proud union of 28 states and 7 union territories.
Coming back as to why i chose to highlight on this great man is for the simplest fact that we overlook our past. If one were to not realise the vitality of sacrifices of many fighters who held fast to liberating this land from external forces, am afraid we would have to give up all sorts of freedom that we experience to this date on all fronts. It becomes imperative for one to know the past to bring about +ve transformations in the present times. The seeds of present well sown, one can reap the fruits of it when today makes way for tomorrow.
On a personal front, after i having gone through recent book on our past did i lately realise the imporatance of India’s struggle for independence. That being the reason as to why i chose to pen down few thoughts on this lines. The bare minimun that we youth can do after realising their sacrifices is to pay our heartfelt and sincere respects.

Finally someone who calls Sardar Patel a greater person than Nehru.I ve always felt the same. And also think that Nehru was the one person actually responsible for the partiton of India. If not for the Sardar,India would never have been like this.
