Success Story OF An Indian Woman:Indra Nooyi
Indra Nooyi born October 28, 1955 is the Chairperson and CEO of PepsiCo, one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies.Yet again another vibrant Indian woman on an elite position.Forbes rated her as the 4th influential women in their list of top influential women’s.Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is her full name and she belongs to state of Chennai,which is a southern state of India.She done her graduation from Madras Christian College in Physics,Chemistry and Math.After graduation we he joined IIM(Calcutta) for her masters in Business administration and specialised in Marketing and Finance.As soon after she finished her MBA she joined ABB and then moved to Johnson & Johnson.Later in her career path she took Master’s in Public & Private Management from Yale Management School in US.After this she worked with Boston Consulting Group and Motorola.And in 1994 she joined Pepsi Co.She emphasized on mergers and acquisitions, and this is how Tropicana and Quaker fruit became part of Pepsi Co.Her strong will, quick decision making ability and stick to work till it get accomplished attitudes brought her many laurels in the company.Then CEO Roger Enrico once made a comment about Ms.Nooyi- “If she gets an idea, she goes after it. There’s no stopping her.” It was she who forayed Pepsi into the sport drinks market.Such insights helped her build a strong foundation in her career graph.
As per my knowledge she is the only Indian woman to become the CEO of $25 Billion Multinational, and perhaps the first Indian to reach to this level.She establishes her connection with India in her attire.In most of the office ceremonies she wears a sari,which show her heart beat synch with India.Indra Nooyi lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with her husband Raj and their two daughters. Ms.Nooyi is very cheerfull and has a great sense of humour.Nature wise she is simple and prefers to avoid controversies.Eventhough a few came in her way in the graduating ceremony of Columbia Business School.He dodged all those with apologies.Whatever all those hypes are Ms.Nooyi is surely a role model for all Indians,especially Indian Women.
