The Soviet chess grandmaster and tenth World Chess Champion who held the title from 1969-72 was born in January 30, 1937.Spassky was born in Leningrad, and learned chess at the age of five when he was on an evacution train from his birth place.His international debut was on 1953 at the age of 16.From that day the growth of the 16 year old was tremendous.
