Mark Webber finally clinched a win – in the final race of the season – in spite of having the most dominant car of the year under him all throughout the season. He was helped greatly by the gearbox trouble for Sebastian Vettel, as he finished second, and decided not to push it too far. Lewis Hamilton won the penultimate race of the season – and helped silence the critics and doubters, at least for a while (This would be the first season in which Hamilton is being beaten by his team-mate). Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button were on the podium, like they have been through a major part of the season. The final race for the year is at Brazil, in two weeks time.

Here are the results of the inaugural Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix Of India. It was a new venue for Formula 1, but that didn’t change the results much. Sebastian Vettel once again stole the thunder, as he took pole position and the race win. Jenson Button continued to dominate his team-mate, as he finished 2nd and Fernando Alonso’s efforts ensured a Ferrari presence for the podium in India. All the drivers and team bosses were very pleased with the circuit layout, and the event was a roaring success. The Indian public turned out in huge numbers – like they do for cricket matches in this part of the world, and F1 has indeed found a great new market for itself.

It was a standard 2011 result, as Sebastian Vettel notched-up yet another win in the 2011 Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton was able to pick-up a non-RBR pole position on Saturday, but he could only finish behind Vettel in P2. Mark Webber in the sister Red Bull completed the podium.
