HP buys Palm to enter the SmartPhone market

HP has never been a major player when it came to Smart Phones.Not that HP wont be able to buid a masterpiece on its own, but when there is a short cut , everyone would take it and HP were no different. Also Lenovo’s and Dell’s intentions to enter the Smart Phone market would have prompted HP to think seriously about the Smart Phone venture. With Palm’s shares plungin down heavily,HP had the oppurtunity . Dell to Launch Smartphones in India

Dell India announced yesterday, that it will soon market it’s range of smartphones in the country. The company beat HP to become the top selling mobile PC brand in India, and is doing wonderfully well in the country, as they have more than doubled their quarterly revenues in the last year.
