Google Chrome OS to be launched
The ever growing populaion of internet users have resuled in a number of new web browsers being launched by different companies over the past two years.Updated versions of the Firefox and Google Chrome have arrived.Microsoft have also made updates to its Internet Explorer and so has Apple and others. Now if you thought that this huge increase in the number of internet users will prompt only a browser war,you might be just wrong. This may just provide some headaches to the bosses in Microsoft as Google has announced the Google Chrome Operating System, which will be a lightweight operating system, which is being dubbed as the Operating System which is devoted specially for the internet users.
As the Official blog of Google says, the Google Chome OS is an attempt to re-think what operating systems should be.Google says that the earlier operating systems were built in an era where there was no web.The Chrome OS is an attempt to make an OS exclusively for the web.
The Google Chrome OS is a lightweight, open source operating systems. The first netbooks powered by the Chrome OS will be out by the second half of 2010.Speed,simplicity and security will be the key aspects on which the Chrome OS will be built. The idea is to speed up the process of getting you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface will remain minimal and all the user experience will be on the web.The Chrome OS will run on both x86 and ARM chips. The architecture is of course based on the Linux kernel. It will be Google Chrome running on top of a Linux Kernel.
The Chrome OS will allow all web based applications to run automatically. You will also have the option to write new applications using the various web technologies. The Chrome OS will do great for people who spend most of the time on the internet.Android powered netbooks are already here. The difference between the two remains to be seen.As of now,it seems exciting times are ahead for those net users.Microsoft has already responded by saying that it will be nothing more than what Android has to offer. However,we need to wait and see what Google has to offer in this new venture.
