Search Engine Bots
Ever wondered how search engines indexes your site?Do you really think that hired professionals actually look into the contents in details? This is where the search engines rely on automated software agents to get the content on our web pages. These software agents are called as bots, crawlers or spiders.
What does the bot do?
All the work from visiting the website, navigation, collecting content and finally adding the data to the indexing is done by the bots.It also follows links on the particular webpage. In short, what the bots actually does is “web crawling”.However, the bot only understands text.So by simply having so many images and flash movies will not help in your website being indexed more.To ensure that the bot can access every information on your website is the core of any SEO technique.
The first part of crawling involves the building of reciprocal links or back links. When an url is submitted to a search engine,it is added to a bot queue of unvisited websites. So if you want your website to be popular, create back links to your sites.Try to give links to your site in as many pages as you can.I am not talking about spamming.Google is not so easily tricked.Make only genuine back links.Once the bot visits your site,it collects all the information including other links.Combining all these data is part of the search engine indexing.
How often does the bot visit your site?Well, once added, the bot will regularly visit our site. However, the frequency of these visits depends on how active your site is.Active, popular and heavily trafficked websites will have bot visits more frequently than an inactive website.
