IPL 2010 – The Semi-Finalists
The 2010 IPL has moved to the semi-final stage. Only one team has performed well consistently – the Mumbai Indians. The other 3 semi-final spots were picked by the Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, and the Bangalore Royal Challengers. There were four teams tied with the same points, and the semi-finalists were decided based on the net run rates. At the end of it all, the Kolkata Knight Riders find themselves to be the only team to have never made the semi-finals on all three editions of the tournament. The two semi-finals are – the Mumbai Indians v/s the Bangalore Royal Challengers, and the Chennai Super Kings v/s the Deccan Chargers. After their clinical performance so far, it would be a disappointment if the Mumbai Indians do not win the IPL. However, all the other three teams are well-capable of creating some upsets. As the IPL draws to a close, the ICC World T20 tournament gets underway. As they say, ‘josh badhenga jab desh ladenga’. Here’s the final state of the points table, after match 56 :
